Make Decisions with Confidence.
I used to be chronically indecisive. Can you relate?
I had lost trust in my ability to make sound decisions.
Through the alignment of my three brains, I’ve become resolute and unstoppable.
What are the three brains?
Have you ever met someone who makes decisions quickly and confidently, but is sorely misguided?
Or how about the low self-confident person whose decisions are never made or are dependent on others’ opinions?
Imbalances like these lead to unnecessary detours in your life and business.
I grew up with low self-regard, leading to codependency on others’ approval, leading to the inability to make decisions on my own. To make things worse, when left to my own devices, I misdirected my life horribly.
These are all symptoms of low Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
The antidote for low EQ? Alignment of the three brains: head, heart, and gut.
How balanced are you?
Neuroscience has found functioning neurons in the heart and gut, giving us three brain centers. Studies show that the most effective leaders - of self or business- have adequately integrated all three. These emotionally intelligent people make decisions that have proven to be highly sound and balanced (references at the end).
For me, the heart center was imbalanced, causing all of my decisions to be strictly emotionally driven. That, of course, leads to an addictive path and a reputation for being volatile in the workplace.
Enough about imbalance. Let’s take a look at each brain’s highest expression when the three are aligned:
The head’s highest expression: Radical Creativity;
The ability to conceive new futures that are co-created with their higher self.
CREATE-tivity means tuning into infinite intelligence by clearing the mind in order to listen (Meditation). You are able to plant the seed of new ideas through your imagination.
Radical Creativity isn't inhibited by the evidence of the five senses. Where others see impossibility, the highest expression of the brain creates possibilities.
The heart’s highest expression: Compassion;
The innate ability to suffer alongside another. This is different than sympathy or empathy. This is authentic care by sharing the perspective of others, even in the workplace.
Compassion is connected to values. If you lack one, you lack the other. The heart brain invites you to detach your own needs to see the world objectively.
While the head plants the seed, the heart nurtures the seedling.
The highest expression of the gut: Dynamic Courage;
Courage from the gut is rooted in empowered identity.
If you haven’t taken the time to define who you are authentically, you won’t be able to make decisions rooted in your authenticity. The gut invites you to take inspired action once you've taken time to balance head and heart.
“You’ll know it in your gut”
Dynamic courage faces uncertainty head-on because there is faith in oneself.
The head plants the seed, the heart nurtures, and the gut harvests the fruits.
Once I discovered the three brains within me, balanced them, and worked to align them, there was no room for indecision.
If you feel stuck, unheard, or ineffective– as a leader in the workplace or in life– ask yourself which of the three brains is out of balance based on the information above.
It’s time to take control of your life!
Love to all, Dallas
